With a new high school opened last fall and the razing of the old 1930 St.Nightmare in the North Woods 20 drivers from the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Outlaw Sprints made the long tow up to the beautiful ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin. The field just keeps getting bigger, as ASCo C owner Tony Stewart will be bringing his Rush Truck Centers 14 machine with him, and we will be joined by the latest World of Outlaws Feature winner and 2017 IRA feature winner, Parker Price-Miller. The podium would consist of Balog who led all 30 laps, followed by Neitzel and Price-Miller. Kyle Marten also won a Maxim chassis as all 26 teams eligible teams were present and all shared in the contingency portion of the program which featured great support from so many companies. Young Kyle Marten topped another youngster in Blake Nimee, and the much improved Matt Vandervere for 5th in the point chase as just 20 points separated 5th to 7th.In qualifying, point leader Scotty Thiel aboard his Professional Plating 64 Machine set a new track record of 3. (DNF) 12-Michael Decker; (DNS) 7-Scott Uttech Heat 3 10 laps 1. California's Rico Abreu will also be making the trip to Wisconsin for these two huge shows. Robinson driving the potent Keith Kunz car and Miller would round out the top 5. Thanks to Behling's, HRP, Lane, R&H, Velocity for their gracious assistance with that program. Mike Reinke, a surging Wayne Modjeski, and Scott Uttech completed the top ten.Heat race one saw 2016 champion Jeremy Schultz use his pole starting position to take the early lead and he would never look back, winning the heat race by more than half a lap over Craig Dollansky. But Jeremy will not only have to contend with the huge group of out of state drivers, but also the IRAs own Matt Vandervere, who has proven he can navigate the tricky Wilmot Raceway as good as anyone. IRA would like to thank long time series sponsor Bumper To Bumper Auto Parts & Service Centers, Osborn & Son Trucking, Hoosier Tire, TW Metals, Cummins Onan, Carriage Auto Body, and Wm. Lehr was the winningest (7) driver in the wing LESS class leading him to the title including the sweep of the Angell Park events.Thiel would come home 3rd in front of 4th finishing Henderson and Russel Borland would bring his Weiss Trucking 23 home in 5th. 2017 IRA point leader Scotty Thiel proved last year that he can run Wilmot as well as anyone when the All Stars came to town, but he must have Angell Park circled on his calendar as he was victorious there twice last year and will definitely be someone to watch this coming Sunday. Last years champ Doug Schenck grabbed 1 win to go along with numerous consistent runs to finish in the runnerup slot.Majors in Minutes is an event hosted during the fall semester by the Office of Academic Advising to allow students to explore majors from the students who are currently enrolled in those majors. In a speed-dating style, students will spend eight minutes per table asking questions and learning about a particular major. All building, including the 1964 elementary buildings, will be connected. To raise the funds needed for the third phase of the project, officials are kicking off a capital campaign called “United We Build,” with a goal of raising million.
