Is there any way I can have my observations recorded adjacent to a serial date value that remains constant on the value the observation was entered?
Of course I can manually enter a date for each observation but I am sure this can be automated somehow.
Some shortcuts, including date and time stamp, doesn't work for some international keyboard layouts for the Google Editors (Docs, Drawings, Sheets, Slides). Depending on you needs, the easiest answer I could think of is by creating a drop down menu and referencing a function on another cell.
The most obvious -- albeit laborious -- solution is to install updates at times when it's convenient for you.
Unfortunately, if your spreadsheet is very large and contains a high number of formulas, then updating all of your formula values can be a pretty time-consuming and resource-intensive activity.
Fortunately you can make Excel 2010 stop updating your formula totals whenever you make a change to a cell and instead execute all of your formula calculations manually.
However, the value in the cell changes whenever the spreadsheet is modified in any way, even when the changes have nothing to do with that particular cell.
How do we stop the value in the cell from being automatically updated? This is an old post, but I was looking into this recently and figured I'd chime in.
