Updating an xbox 360

The live-updating panels that Windows 8 and Redmond's mobile platform utilize were never truly present on the Xbox 360, but last year's update offered a passable facsimile in the form of a rotating "featured" tile that cycled through select content.

It won't work without an official HD, cause that partition is getting the software update. the firmware update page says 9/17/2015, but the actual data that's downloaded is from 3/2/2016, which is in line with the (currently) latest build, 2.0.17502.0 which was released on 3/29/2016.

I seem to recall them being separate, but if I can just install the latest firmware and have have everything work, that would be nice. Sorry for going on and on, but I feel like someone in the future might be doing his or her own research into this, and just might stumble onto this archive. For the record, I don't know which firmware she is currently running, but it can't be super old since it's got the current Windows 8-ish interface.

Note: The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.
